The interactive CD-ROM also includes reproducible activity pages that are intended as a follow-up to the lessons. and state standards. Optional narration also makes the
CD ideal for beginning readers, ESL, and special needs
students. Students compare whale and fish anatomy,
learn about different types of whales, watch videos of
whales leaping and diving, listen to whale sounds, and
to recognize the need for whale conservation.
The Puzzler Reinforces visual-spatial awareness, part-whole, and short-term visual memory. Students put together a puzzle of a whale photo or illustration from the book. The Solve It button helps the student to see how the completed puzzle should look.
Fluke Match Fluke identification is used to track humpback whales
throughout the world. In this fun version of the
classic matching game, students challenge their visual
discrimination and memory skills.
